With this win, India won its eighth Asia Cup title. This Asia Cup came after a long wait of five years, and it was India's most impressive ODI win in terms of balls, achieved with 263 balls to spare.
Siraj's spell was no less than magic, because with the help of seam and swing, he bowled out Sri Lanka for just 50 runs. In reply, India chased down the target with a pair of batsmen, Shubman Gill contributing 27 runs and Ishan Kishan adding 23 runs, to win in just 6.1 overs.
The win holds special significance for India, as it is their first win in a multi-nation competition since the 2018 Asia Cup triumph. This win is a fitting reply to the way Sri Lanka had all-out India for 54 runs in the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy in Sharjah in 2000.
