He is being eyed for their World Cup opener, which will be against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
Rahul was injured in the IPL earlier this year, although he has recovered after training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru and passing the fitness test. He has left to join his India colleagues in Sri Lanka for their Super 4 clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

Batting Group
