Delhi-Meerut RRTS: Sahibabad-Duhai tickets fare list , distence cover time , facilities.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to unveil India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) at a grand inauguration ceremony at the Sahibabad RapidX station, marking a significant milestone. The heart of this new transport network is a high-speed train called NaMo Bharat, which will connect Sahibabad to Duhai depot. This train, which will start from October 21, will run at a speed of 100 to 160 kilometers per hour.

Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor :

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, an essential component of this revolutionary project, is a 17-km stretch that connects key areas like Ghaziabad, Guldar, Duhai and Sahibabad with Duhai Depot. The foundation stone for this corridor was laid by Prime Minister Modi on March 8, 2019, marking the beginning of a transformative journey in regional connectivity for the National Capital Region (NCR).

Under this ambitious RRTS project, eight corridors have been identified for development, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity through state-of-the-art transport infrastructure. The first phase, which includes three corridors – Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Gurugram-SNB-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat, is now in focus.

The RapidX train, NaMo Bharat, will initially operate on the Sahibabad to Duhai depot route, covering the distance of 17 kilometers in just 15 to 17 minutes. At an interval of every 15 minutes, this train will make a short stop of 30 seconds at each station.

Ticket fares :

Looking at ticket fares, the fare for a journey from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Meerut is expected to be around Rs 200, while from Sahibabad to Duhai, a distance of about 17 kilometres, the fare is likely to be around Rs 50.

Dedicated coach for women :

NaMo India promises an exceptional travel experience. It will feature a dedicated coach for women, and more than half of the staff will be women recruited locally. The train has a total of six coaches, including one premium class coach located immediately behind the engine.

Facilities :

Passengers traveling on NaMo India can expect a variety of amenities, such as overhead luggage racks, Wi-Fi and mobile and laptop charging sockets at each seat. In addition, the train is equipped with several safety features. Digital screens across the train will display station information and real-time speed updates. High-tech automatic gates ensure entry, and glass walls provide separation between the platforms and train tracks.
