What is the Haldwani violence and how did it start?

Recently, a court order was issued to remove illegal encroachments in the state, leading to the Haldwani Municipal Corporation's efforts to clear such encroachments in the city. Madrasas and mosques had been built on the "malik bagicha" the unowned land in the Vanbhoolpura. The municipal corporation took action against this illegal encroachment, which was protested by the local residents. As tensions escalated, the municipal corporation sealed off the area and halted the operation. However, on Thursday morning at 4:00 a.m., municipal officers, accompanied by the JCB, conducted an operation on the "Malik bagicha" (Unowned land).
During the operation by the JCB on the "Malik bagicha" (Unowned land), there was a sudden attack on the bulldozer and the police. The gathered crowd suddenly began pelting stones at the police. Municipal vehicles were set on fire.
